Minneapolis Police Investigate Hit-and-Run Incident Involving 10-Year-Old Girl
A 10-year-old girl was struck by a grey SUV while crossing the road at the intersection of Lowery Avenue North and Sheridan Avenue North in Minneapolis on Wednesday evening around 5:50 p.m.
Fortunately, the girl is expected to recover and is receiving treatment at Hennepin Healthcare.
The driver of the SUV failed to stop at the scene, prompting a police investigation. No arrests have been made yet.
This incident marks the fourth reported case of a child being struck by a vehicle in the metro area in recent weeks. Last month, three children were hit by cars, including two hit-and-run incidents in Brooklyn Park and one in north Minneapolis.
The Minneapolis Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward to aid in the investigation.
