A tragic accident in Sheldon, Vermont, on Friday evening, October 10, 2025, has left one young woman dead and another driver seriously injured, according to a report from the Vermont State Police.
Authorities say the crash occurred around 6:27 p.m. on Vermont Route 105, just west of Colton Road. A state trooper had initially attempted to pull over a silver vehicle for speeding, but the driver did not stop and continued westbound at a high rate of speed. Police confirmed the trooper did not pursue the vehicle after it failed to stop.

Shortly afterward, the trooper discovered a serious two-vehicle collision on Route 105 near Kane Road. The crash involved the same silver car—a 2010 Honda Crosstour driven by 18-year-old Aryanna Fleming of Enosburgh—and a 2000 Toyota Tundra driven by 36-year-old Andrea Dillner of Fletcher.
Investigators believe Fleming’s car veered off the westbound shoulder before crossing back over the centerline and striking the Toyota head-on. Sadly, Fleming was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.
Dillner sustained serious injuries and was initially taken to Northwestern Medical Center before being airlifted to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington for advanced treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the events leading up to the failed traffic stop. Vermont State Police have asked any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash to come forward.
