The Texas Department of Public Safety reports the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. near Blanco Springs. Investigators say Bomar was driving a 2014 Jeep eastbound when she lost control on a rain-slick curve, crossing into the westbound lane and colliding with a Ford F-350 pickup.

The pickup was driven by a 22-year-old Gatesville woman, whose name has not yet been released. Both drivers were transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with serious injuries.

Medical staff later pronounced Bomar dead from her injuries. The other driver remains hospitalized in stable condition, according to DPS officials.

State Highway 36 was closed for several hours while troopers conducted their investigation and cleared the roadway. The crash remains under investigation.
