The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of Donald Anthony Stickrath, 19, following an accidental shooting at a campground in the Hualapai Mountains on Monday, October 13.
Deputies responded to the scene off Flag Mine Road around 9:20 a.m., where two individuals were performing CPR on Stickrath inside a tent. Despite efforts by deputies and medical personnel, Stickrath was pronounced dead at the scene and later transferred to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s office.

Preliminary findings indicate that the shooting occurred while the victim was handling his handgun, which accidentally discharged. Detectives are continuing their investigation to confirm the circumstances surrounding the incident.
