A tragic collision in Greenville County has claimed the life of 19-year-old Shane Roberts McVey, leaving his family, friends, and community in deep mourning.
The accident occurred around 5 p.m. Friday on White Horse Road (Highway 25) near SC 123, a stretch known for heavy traffic. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a Toyota 4Runner carrying five occupants attempted to turn west onto SC 123 when it collided with an oncoming tractor-trailer traveling south on White Horse Road.

The impact left multiple passengers injured. Emergency responders from the Parker Fire District rushed all five occupants of the SUV to local hospitals, while the driver of the 18-wheeler was unharmed.
McVey, a passenger in the 4Runner, was transported to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Despite extensive medical efforts, the Greenville County Coroner confirmed he died on Saturday at 12:33 p.m. from multiple blunt force injuries. His death was ruled accidental.
