Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of 35-year-old Amanda Seguin, of Indianapolis, late Sunday night on Interstate 65 in northern Bartholomew County.
According to a report from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post, the accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. near the 76-mile marker, just outside Taylorsville. Preliminary findings indicate that Seguin was driving a 2025 Nissan Rogue when the vehicle veered off the roadway for reasons still under investigation. The SUV struck a concrete barrier, continued down an embankment, overturned, and ejected Seguin from the vehicle.

Emergency crews from multiple agencies responded swiftly, including the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, Taylorsville Fire Department, and Columbus Regional EMS. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Seguin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office.
Investigators believe Seguin was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Early evidence also suggests that drugs and/or alcohol may have been contributing factors, though toxicology results are pending as the investigation continues.
Authorities are urging motorists to use proper restraints and drive responsibly as they continue working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
