Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal tractor accident Tuesday morning in the Picada Caballero area as 65-year-old Luis Gacek.

Investigators reported that the tragedy occurred when the tractor Gacek was operating overturned on a steep 45-degree slope, pinning him beneath the vehicle. The on-call physician confirmed that he died instantly from crushing trauma.
Emergency responders at the scene included officers from the Piñalito Police Station, the Criminal Investigation Unit, a biochemist, and the duty doctor.
A passenger, 49-year-old Beatriz N. M. N., sustained minor injuries in the crash. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed her injuries were not life-threatening.
Following the investigation, Gacek’s body was released to his family to make wake and burial arrangements.
The case remains under review by local authorities.
