Emergency responders from Woodbury Police and Fire, as well as officers from Cottage Grove and Oakdale, arrived quickly at the scene. Amsbaugh, who was a passenger in the Corvette, was transported to Regions Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries. The 30-year-old driver of the Corolla, from North Saint Paul, was reportedly unharmed.

Officials confirmed that all occupants were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The roadway was described as dry at the time of the incident.

As the Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate, the community is mourning the loss of Thomas Amsbaugh—a longtime Wisconsin resident remembered for his warmth, integrity, and kindness.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has additional information to contact the Minnesota State Patrol as they work to determine what led to the tragic accident.
