Active Search Underway for Missing Philadelphia Woman Kada Scott in Germantown

Philadelphia authorities are conducting an extensive search for 23-year-old Kada Scott, who vanished after leaving her workplace in the Germantown section of the city last weekend.

According to police, Scott was last seen on Saturday night, October 4, when she arrived for her overnight shift at The Terrace, an assisted living facility located on East Abington Avenue. She reportedly left the building before her shift ended and has not been seen or heard from since.

Investigators say Scott’s car was found parked outside the facility, but her phone has been inactive, and there has been no activity on her social media accounts since the night she disappeared. Family members told reporters that Scott had recently mentioned receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown individual, which authorities are now investigating as a possible lead.

On Thursday, the search for Scott expanded to Awbury Arboretum, a wooded area in Germantown. Police, cadets, and K-9 units were seen combing through the grounds and nearby residential areas. Despite hours of searching, officials said no significant evidence had been found.

Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said investigators are treating the case as a high-priority missing person investigation, adding that there is no indication Scott left voluntarily.

Scott’s family has pleaded for her safe return. Her mother, Kim Matthews, said, “This isn’t like her at all. She would never disappear without letting someone know. We just want her home safe.”

Community volunteers have joined the effort, posting flyers around Germantown and Mount Airy. Meanwhile, the assisted living facility where Scott worked has confirmed it is cooperating fully with investigators.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about Scott’s whereabouts to contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

The investigation remains active as police continue reviewing surveillance footage and phone records in hopes of finding clues that could lead to Kada Scott’s location.
