A Life of Love, Service, and Dedication
Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Katy met her future husband, David, while they were in high school. The couple married in 1997 and shared nearly 30 years together, navigating the demands of military life while raising a family.
In her early years, Katy pursued her passion for the arts, performing as a professional ballerina with Ballet Arizona between 1992 and 1994. As her husband’s military career advanced, she embraced service to others, supporting spouse networks worldwide, volunteering countless hours, and raising their three children through assignments in Germany, Italy, and the U.S.
Her dedication extended beyond family and volunteer work. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked at the Tinker Thrift Store, helping fund scholarships and outreach programs. She also served as a Trustee for the Air Force Aid Society, reflecting her commitment to military families.
Balancing family responsibilities and personal growth, Katy earned her degree from Minot State University in 2014. She also found joy in simple pleasures like camping, cooking, and listening to podcasts.
Family and Legacy
Katy is survived by her husband, CMSAF David A. Flosi, the 20th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force; their children Hannah, Bella, and Jack; as well as many friends and loved ones across the Air Force community.
Her legacy lives on through her service, generosity, and unwavering support for those around her.
Chief Master Sergeant Flosi continues his role as the senior enlisted leader and principal adviser to the Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Air Force, representing more than 665,000 Total Force Airmen.
Katy Flosi’s passing marks a profound loss, not only for her family but also for the wider Air Force family she dedicated her life to uplifting.
