The Albany community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Howell Dixon “Dixon” White, a joyful and energetic 5-year-old who died on September 19, 2025, following a tragic accident.

Born on April 9, 2020, Dixon was known for his boundless curiosity, quick wit, and athletic spirit. Whether tossing a ball, racing through the yard, or riding along with his father on the mower, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm and laughter.
Family members describe him as a bright light whose kindness and warmth touched everyone he met. Dixon’s deep bond with his parents, Howell and KayLee White, and his protective love for his sisters, Amelia and Saville, defined his short but meaningful life.
“Dixon had a way of filling every room with happiness,” a close family friend shared. “He loved deeply, laughed often, and left an imprint on all of us that will never fade.”
Relatives take comfort in their faith, finding peace in knowing Dixon is now “safe in the arms of Jesus.” A favorite verse, Matthew 19:14 — “Let the little children come to Me … for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” — has offered solace in this time of grief.
Dixon is survived by his parents, sisters, grandparents Eddie and Natalie Dixon and Charles and Ellen White, as well as a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who cherished his radiant spirit.
A celebration of Dixon’s life will be held Tuesday, September 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Hope City United Church, with a private graveside service to follow. Friends may visit with the family one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hope City United Church, 1211 Stuart Ave, Albany, GA 31707, to help build a playground in Dixon’s honor — a space where children can laugh, explore, and carry forward the joy he so effortlessly shared.
