Authorities are investigating the death of 34-year-old Alexander Desarno, who was discovered unresponsive early Tuesday morning at an apartment complex in East County.

Deputies from the Lakeside Substation were dispatched just after 1:30 a.m. to the 425 E. Bradley Avenue complex in unincorporated El Cajon following reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived, they found Desarno inside an apartment suffering from traumatic injuries. Despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Desarno’s death. Officials have not yet released details about how the incident unfolded.
