The community of Allen County is grieving the loss of a longtime resident after a fatal crash on Wednesday, October 2, 2025. Authorities say 68-year-old Martin Arterburn of Scottsville was killed when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a rock wall.
According to the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 3, troopers were dispatched just before noon to the intersection of Macedonia Road and Old Gallatin Road after receiving reports of a serious collision. Investigators say Arterburn was driving a red 2010 Ford Fusion when, for reasons still under review, the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a rock wall.

Emergency responders arrived within minutes, but despite their efforts, Arterburn was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allen County coroner.
KSP officials confirmed that the investigation remains active as they work to determine what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. Investigators are considering multiple factors, including possible mechanical failure, roadway hazards, and driving conditions at the time of the accident.
