Arab Community Mourns 8-Year-Old Cal Guess After Tragic ATV Accident in Union Grove
The Arab, Alabama community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 8-year-old Cal Guess, a beloved student at Arab Elementary School, who tragically died following an ATV accident on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Union Grove.

According to the Marshall County Coroner’s Office, the fatal crash occurred on private property along Rescue Road, where Cal was thrown from an ATV during a single-vehicle accident. He was initially taken to Huntsville Hospital and later airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, but sadly, he was pronounced dead on Monday despite extensive medical efforts.
