Dawson Springs, KY – Kentucky State Police are investigating a deadly collision on Interstate 69 that claimed the life of Julia Jones, 64, of Blue Mountain, Arkansas, late Wednesday night.
The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. near the 92-mile marker after the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office requested state police assistance. According to the preliminary investigation, Jones was driving a northbound sedan when her vehicle reportedly crossed the median into the southbound lanes and collided with a semi-truck and trailer.

The truck was operated by Jose Tovar-Silva, 51, of Sanluis Potosi, Mexico, who was not injured in the crash. Authorities confirmed that no criminal charges have been filed at this time.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office. The Yell County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas assisted in notifying her family.
Detective Jacob Stephens with the Kentucky State Police is leading the ongoing investigation.
