
ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta community is mourning the sudden loss of Antonio L. Speed, a respected educator, leader, and entrepreneur whose life was defined by service, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Born and raised in North Miami, Florida, Antonio later made Atlanta his home, where he built a reputation as a dependable professional and compassionate mentor. He served in numerous educational roles, including Assistant Principal and Health Educator with Fulton County Schools, Special Education Teacher with Clayton County Public Schools, and Behavioral Specialist at Ombudsman. He also held positions with the Broward County School Board, Fulton County Government, and the Jonathan Spikes Foundation.
In addition to his work in education, Antonio was CEO of Speed Quality Property Inspections, demonstrating the same dedication and attention to detail that defined his professional life. Colleagues remember him as a punctual, hardworking, and joyful presence who brought warmth, humor, and guidance to every interaction.
Antonio’s academic achievements reflected his lifelong commitment to growth and leadership. He earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Valdosta State University (1999), a Master’s in Public Administration (2011), and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Georgia College & State University (2020), graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Friends, colleagues, and former students remember Antonio not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his generosity, mentorship, and ability to connect with people across all walks of life. One tribute noted, “Antonio, you may be gone, but you’ll never be forgotten. My clients and I will genuinely miss you.” Another alumnus wrote, “Tony Speed, my brother, you will truly be missed.”
Antonio is survived by his family and countless friends whose lives he touched through his leadership, compassion, and service. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, leaving a lasting imprint on the Atlanta community and beyond.
