ATV Collision Claims Life of Sylacauga Man After Hitting Deer

Authorities confirmed that 55-year-old Willie F. Martin of Sylacauga died in a tragic all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident early this morning after colliding with a deer.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred around 2:00 AM on Oakland Road, approximately two miles west of Sycamore. While operating a 2020 Yamaha YFZ450 ATV, Martin struck a deer that had entered the roadway. The impact caused the ATV to veer off the road and overturn. Martin was ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
