CANTON, OH — Authorities declared a Code Black emergency at Aultman Hospital on Wednesday afternoon after a reported bomb threat forced the facility into a complete lockdown.
Police and emergency crews swiftly responded to the scene, securing the hospital and surrounding area while bomb-sniffing K-9 units conducted a detailed search. Staff members, patients, and visitors were instructed to remain in place as law enforcement carried out the investigation.

The Canton Police Department and Stark County Sheriff’s Office are jointly handling the situation. As of now, officials have confirmed that no explosive devices have been located, but safety measures remain in effect as a precaution.
“The safety of our patients, staff, and visitors is our top priority,” Aultman Health System said in a statement. “We are cooperating fully with law enforcement and will maintain lockdown status until authorities confirm the area is secure.”
Access to the hospital and nearby roads has been temporarily closed, and residents are being advised to avoid the area until further notice.
No injuries have been reported, though some hospital operations have been temporarily paused in affected areas.
