The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man killed in a Saturday night shooting as 23-year-old Banwari Godara, a San Jose native who had recently relocated to Fresno.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on October 18 near a truck repair yard along the 5400 block of South Cedar Avenue, in a county area of Fresno. Police say two men were shot before driving to a nearby urgent care center at Shaw and Brawley Avenues, where responding officers discovered them suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where Godara was pronounced dead. The second victim, a 21-year-old man, was treated for his injuries and later released.
Investigators from the Fresno Police Department determined that the shooting took place at the truck yard before the victims left the scene in a vehicle with another person. Deputies from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office later found evidence of a crime scene at the location and have since taken over the investigation.
No arrests have been made, and detectives have not yet released details about a possible motive or suspect.
