Authorities have confirmed the identity of the man discovered dead in his home near Lower Lake as 25-year-old Luis Padilla Pina.
Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office found Padilla’s body Friday morning while responding to a reported break-in at his residence on Highway 29, just south of Lower Lake. The county coroner officially released his identity on Tuesday.

Investigators are treating the case as a homicide and continue to pursue leads to determine a suspect and motive. Sheriff’s officials noted that the killing appears to have been an isolated incident.
