The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has identified 72-year-old Ronald Taylor as the man killed in a boating accident Saturday night on South Holston Lake.
According to TWRA, the crash happened around 9:45 p.m. when a bass boat carrying two people collided with a pillar of the Highway 421 bridge. Taylor, who was a passenger, died at the scene.
The boat’s operator sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.
TWRA officials said the incident marks the 20th boating-related fatality on Tennessee waterways so far in 2025. Investigators are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
