The University of Washington and Huskies softball community are reeling from the unexpected passing of Bailey Harris, a standout pitcher whose talent and light-hearted spirit left an indelible mark on teammates, coaches and fans alike. Her journey from the mound to the locker-room went beyond numbers and wins — she embodied what it meant to lead by example.
Harris’s athleticism was matched only by her warmth and character. On the field, she carried a fierce competitiveness tempered with grace: fierce when the game demanded it, humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Off the field, she was equally memorable — a dedicated student, a loyal friend, and someone who made it a point to lift others up. Her laughter, generosity and unwavering positivity created bonds that will last long after her days in purple and gold.
