
The Bay Point community is reeling after the tragic death of 64-year-old Brian Lee Utt, who was fatally stabbed at his home on Solano Court Thursday morning, October 23, 2025.
According to Jimmy Lee, Director of Public Affairs for the Contra Costa Sheriff-Coroner, deputies from Muir Station responded to a medical-police call at approximately 11:26 a.m. Upon entering the residence, officers found Utt bleeding from stab wounds. Emergency personnel administered first aid before he was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have arrested Utt’s wife, 57-year-old Libelyn “Jingjing” Taculod Utt, at the scene. She has been booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on a murder charge and is being held without bail.
The Utts were active members of Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood, where Brian helped lead a men’s Bible study, and neighbors describe them as long-standing participants in the local faith community.
