Belize City Police Investigate Fatal Shooting of 37-Year-Old Ricardo Arturo Escobar
BELIZE CITY — Authorities have launched a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Ricardo Arturo Escobar, a Belizean laborer who was gunned down late Monday night.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Nurse Findley Crescent, where Escobar was standing when an unidentified gunman approached and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Officers were later alerted that a gunshot victim had been transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH). Upon arrival, they found Escobar suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators recovered several 9mm expended shells from the scene, which are believed to have been fired during the deadly attack.

Police say the motive for the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been made at this time.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist in identifying the shooter to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers as the investigation continues.
