Montgomery County police have identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash earlier this week as Abraham Michael Ehlers, 54, of Bethesda.
According to investigators, the crash happened at about 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, along Beach Drive between Rockville Pike and Knowles Avenue. Police said Ehlers was riding a black 2006 Suzuki DR-Z400 when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control and veered off the roadway into the wood line.

First responders from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service arrived quickly, but Ehlers was pronounced dead at the scene.
The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to contact them at 240-773-6620.
Authorities extended their condolences to Ehlers’ family and friends, noting that their thoughts remain with all those affected by the tragedy.
