Authorities in Boca Raton, Florida, are investigating a serious road rage incident that left a man critically injured on I-95 north, near Palmetto Park Road and Hillsboro, late Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO), the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m., when officers from the Florida Highway Patrol requested assistance from the Boca Raton Police Department and Broward deputies. Upon arriving, investigators found that a male driver had sustained serious injuries from a gunshot. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Breanna Evans, 26, was detained at the scene in connection with the shooting. She now faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder, one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle, and one count of shooting from a vehicle.
Authorities have stated that Evans and the victim were not known to each other and that the shooting appears to have been triggered by a road rage altercation. Investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses as part of the ongoing inquiry.
BSO emphasized that the investigation is still active, urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
The case highlights the growing concern over road rage incidents in the region, as communities and law enforcement work to prevent violent confrontations on busy highways.
