Authorities are investigating a tragic incident at Hudson Yards this afternoon after an adult male was found dead following an apparent fall from one of the area’s high-rise buildings.
According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), officers responded to reports of a person falling from a building shortly after 2 p.m. When first responders arrived, they discovered the man’s body near the base of a skyscraper within the Hudson Yards complex.

Emergency medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. While preliminary findings indicate the death resulted from a fall, investigators have not yet determined whether it was accidental or intentional.
A portion of the Hudson Yards plaza was cordoned off as police and forensic teams gathered evidence and interviewed witnesses. Pedestrian access was temporarily restricted as authorities worked to secure the scene.
“The investigation is currently active and ongoing,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “At this time, there is no indication of foul play.”
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Hudson Yards, one of Manhattan’s most prominent developments, has previously experienced similar tragic events, including fatal falls from The Vessel — its well-known observation structure — which remains partially closed to the public.
