Peel Regional Police have confirmed that the woman fatally shot on Tuesday in Brampton was Savannah Kulla, the victim of what authorities are describing as an intimate partner-related homicide.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire near Airport Road and Queen Street East earlier in the day. Upon arrival, they found Kulla suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate efforts by first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have named 38-year-old Anthony Deschepper, Kulla’s boyfriend, as the primary suspect. He is believed to have fled in a 2024 black Nissan Kicks with Quebec license plate FRV4520 and is considered armed and dangerous.
The tragic shooting also prompted a province-wide Amber Alert for a one-year-old child connected to the couple. The child was later safely recovered with family members, but Deschepper remains at large.

Authorities believe he may have traveled to the Fort Erie area near Prospect Point and Ridgeway Road, prompting local police to issue a shelter-in-place advisory for residents in the area.
Peel Regional Police have urged the public not to approach Deschepper if seen and to call 911 immediately. “This is a tragic and senseless loss of life,” police said, emphasizing that all efforts are being made to locate the suspect and ensure public safety.
