Kenmore Hills, Brisbane — Queensland Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide following the deaths of a mother and her eight-year-old daughter at a short-term rental property earlier this week.

The victims have been identified as 54-year-old Dr. Tiffany Wilkes, a former anaesthetist at Princess Alexandra Hospital, and her daughter, Clementine. Authorities confirmed that Clementine is the 19th Australian child lost to violence in 2025.
Police were called to the Tinara Crescent property on Monday after Dr. Wilkes sent a troubling email to colleagues, prompting a welfare check. Officers discovered the bodies upon entering the luxury Airbnb. Detectives have confirmed that the case is being treated as a murder-suicide.
Investigators revealed that Dr. Wilkes and her daughter had been living in hotels and short-term rentals following her resignation from the hospital. Neighbours reported they had not seen the pair at their Norman Park residence for approximately 18 months. CCTV footage captured Dr. Wilkes on Sunday, her last known sighting, wheeling a rubbish bin outside the property.
Queensland Premier David Crisafulli expressed his condolences, describing the tragedy as “distressing for everyone, including first responders who had to witness such a scene.”
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths and are appealing to the public for any information or relevant CCTV footage.
