The town of Bristol, New Hampshire, is mourning the tragic loss of 21-year-old Ryan C. Berg, who died early Sunday morning following a fiery single-vehicle crash on Interstate 93 in Ashland.
According to a statement from the New Hampshire State Police, the accident occurred around 2:45 a.m. on October 13, 2025, about one mile north of Exit 24. Berg’s vehicle reportedly veered off the right side of the highway while traveling southbound before crashing into a wooded area and erupting into flames.

When troopers and emergency crews from Ashland Fire Department arrived, they found the vehicle fully engulfed. Despite their efforts, Berg — the only occupant of the car — was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials later confirmed that he died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.
Investigators from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit (CAR Unit) are working to determine the exact cause of the crash. Authorities say no factors have been ruled out, including speed, fatigue, or possible mechanical issues.
The devastating incident led to temporary lane closures along the southbound side of I-93 as firefighters and police worked to extinguish the fire and clear the area. Drivers passing through during the early hours described a heavy emergency presence and thick smoke rising from the scene.
