Bristol, CT — The Bristol community is grieving the sudden death of Jayson Bruno-Matos, 36, a beloved father, brother, and business owner, who was fatally shot early Saturday morning, August 24, 2025.

Police responded to the 100 block of Arch Street around 2 a.m. after multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire. Bruno-Matos was found with fatal gunshot wounds and did not survive. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.

Bruno-Matos was known as the owner of Creative Cutz Barbers Lounge, a hub for community and connection. Beyond his business, he was a mentor, friend, and source of positivity to many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
