Renowned British fashion designer and artist Pam Hogg, celebrated globally for her bold, rule-breaking creativity, has died at the age of 66. She passed away on Wednesday at St Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney, London, with family and close friends by her side.
Hogg, who was born in Paisley near Glasgow, became one of the most distinctive voices in British fashion. Known for her futuristic catsuits, punk-inspired pieces and daring silhouettes, she rose to prominence in the early 1980s after launching her debut collection, Psychedelic Jungle.

Her work quickly gained traction among musicians and cultural icons. Over the decades, she dressed major stars including Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Björk, and Debbie Harry — solidifying her status as a designer whose creations blended fashion, art, and rock-and-roll attitude.
Beyond fashion, Hogg was deeply rooted in the UK’s underground creative scene. She was a musician, a fixture of London’s vibrant club culture, and an artist whose work spanned installation, film and performance.
After stepping back during the minimalist wave of the 1990s, Hogg made a strong return in the 2000s, often hand-crafting each runway piece herself. Her final collection in 2024, Of Gods and Monsters, explored political and environmental themes through recycled materials and avant-garde designs.
Her family, in a statement, praised her lasting influence, saying she leaves behind “a magnificent legacy that will continue to inspire people to live boldly and beyond convention.”
