The Calgary community is reeling from the sudden and tragic passing of Noel Smith, a dedicated coach, mentor, and friend whose life was cut short following a devastating accident. Noel, in his 60s, succumbed to injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle in the southeast Highfield community, in the 1500 block of Hastings Crescent S.E., early Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews rushed Noel to the hospital in critical condition, but despite their efforts, he did not survive. The Calgary Police Service Traffic Unit and Occupational Health and Safety are continuing their investigation into the incident.
