Cambria County Man Dies in Tragic Workplace Accident in Summerhill Township

The Cambria County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 54-year-old Robert Maticic, who died Saturday morning, October 11, 2025, following a workplace accident in Summerhill Township, Pennsylvania.

According to the Cambria County Coroner’s Office, Maticic was installing a snow guard on the roof of a garage along Friends Avenue at approximately 10:46 a.m. when he fell between 15 and 20 feet onto the driveway below.

Family members discovered him unresponsive and immediately called for emergency assistance. He was rushed to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, where he was sadly pronounced deceased at 11:53 a.m.

Coroner Jeff Lees confirmed that Maticic’s cause of death was blunt-force head trauma, and the incident has been officially ruled accidental.

Those who knew Robert describe him as a hardworking, kindhearted man who took great pride in his craft and cared deeply for his family and friends. His dedication, generosity, and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path.
