Carl Junction, Missouri, is mourning the loss of Phyllis E. Sanders, who passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. She was 86.
Phyllis was admired for her lifelong commitment to service and her devotion to community. A faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church, she dedicated her time and energy to numerous initiatives, including the Boy Scouts of America and Rainbows for Children, where her kindness and leadership left a lasting impact.
She was also known for her many talents—nurturing her gardens, creating beautiful pieces as a seamstress, and embracing her love of dance with an enduring spirit of joy.
Above all, Phyllis treasured her family. She is survived by her four sons and nine grandchildren, who will continue to carry forward her legacy of love, generosity, and faith.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, at Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin, where family, friends, and community members will gather to celebrate her remarkable life.
