Chester – A chaotic scene erupted Wednesday evening at the Dorian Court Apartments on Lloyd Street between 6th and 7th streets, resulting in the death of one person and prompting an active police investigation.
Police received reports of a domestic-related shooting just before 6:30 p.m., with the suspect reportedly still armed inside the residence. Multiple officers from neighboring sectors responded rapidly, and helicopters were deployed to monitor the area.
Initial reports indicated there might have been two victims, but authorities have since confirmed that one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while the status of a second possible victim remains uncertain, with some indications suggesting only a non-gunshot-related injury.
The investigation caused temporary access issues for residents of the 600 block of Lloyd Street and units 500–1100 of Dorian Court. While 7th Street has been reopened, authorities advise residents to remain indoors and cooperate as officers continue their work.
Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat, and they are actively interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact local law enforcement to assist with the investigation.
The Chester community remains shaken by the violence, and officials continue to emphasize caution and vigilance as they work to resolve the case.
