Chesterfield County, VA – Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Thursday morning, September 25, 2025, and claimed the life of 38-year-old Eddie Hairston III.
Officers responded at approximately 4:07 a.m. to the 12300 block of Moores Lake Road after receiving reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, they discovered Hairston suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute. Authorities say an adult female in the residence shot Hairston after he allegedly assaulted her and threatened her life while brandishing a firearm.
Police are currently treating the incident as a justifiable homicide and confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community.
