Chesterfield County Police have made an arrest following a deadly shooting that took place on the evening of Sunday, May 26, along the 1900 block of Periwinkle Drive.
Authorities say officers responded to reports of gunfire around 8:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered two adults suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, identified as 46-year-old Brian L. Cosby of Periwinkle Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, an adult woman, sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Police later confirmed that she remains hospitalized but is now in stable condition.
Following swift investigative efforts, 45-year-old Dion M. Rucker, of the 3000 block of Scuffletown Road in Rice, Virginia, was taken into custody on Monday, May 27, in connection with the homicide.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the shooting but confirmed that the suspect and victims were known to each other. The investigation remains active, and detectives are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Chesterfield County Police Department or Crime Solvers.
