CHICAGO – Chicago police are investigating the death of a 54-year-old man found Saturday afternoon in the city’s West Loop neighborhood.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as Brant R. Dykehouse.

Authorities responded to a report in the 700 block of West Jackson Boulevard on Saturday afternoon. Dykehouse was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Chicago Police Department confirms the incident is under investigation but has stated there is no ongoing threat to public safety. No further details regarding the circumstances have been released.
Remembering a Cherished Friend
News of Dykehouse’s passing has prompted an outpouring of grief from friends, colleagues, and former classmates across Chicago, his native Michigan, and from his time living abroad in Japan.
A longtime Chicago resident originally from Richland, Michigan, Dykehouse was a graduate of Loyola University Chicago and Lake Forest College. Friends confirmed he worked as a therapist and was deeply dedicated to his profession.
In online tributes, friends remembered him as a kind, gracious, and funny person who was a generous host and listener. Sarah Barbour, a close friend from his years in Japan, recalled his warmth and the joy he brought to others, noting he was “happy” and in love at the time of his passing.
