Savion, a senior majoring in computer science, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of academic excellence and kindness that will long be remembered across the university.
Savion was known for his intellectual curiosity and dedication to making a meaningful impact through his studies. As news of his passing spread, Claflin University President Dr. Dwaun J. Warmack and the campus community extended their deepest condolences to Savion’s family and loved ones. The university announced that grief counselors will be available beginning Monday, October 27, at The James and Dorothy Z. Elmore Chapel, to offer emotional support and guidance to students, faculty, and staff affected by this tragedy. In addition, TimelyCare, a free and confidential counseling service, remains available 24/7 for those seeking comfort and healing.
Though Savion’s journey ended far too soon, his spirit continues to live on through the countless lives he touched. He will be remembered not only for his academic accomplishments but also for the warmth, kindness, and encouragement he shared so freely.
