Cocoa, Florida — Authorities are investigating a violent shooting that erupted Monday afternoon in Cocoa, leaving three people injured and the community on edge.

According to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. near Clearlake Road and Minnie Street, just south of the Eastern Florida State College campus. Sheriff Ivey said the shooting appears to have been an isolated and possibly retaliatory attack.

Preliminary findings suggest that the suspects drove up to a parked vehicle and opened fire, striking three individuals. More than 20 rounds were fired, according to investigators. The victims were transported to nearby hospitals, though their current conditions have not been released.

The Cocoa Police Department is assisting deputies at the scene as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses. Authorities have not yet released any suspect information or vehicle description connected to the shooting.
