Authorities in Coffee County are investigating a tragic incident after a 53-year-old woman was found dead from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound on October 26, 2025.
According to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 3:40 p.m. to the 1800 block of Sixteenth Model Road following reports of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers discovered the woman deceased inside the residence.

Investigators say that, based on preliminary findings, no foul play is suspected at this time. The Medical Examiner’s Office will perform a full examination to determine the official cause and manner of death.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of her family.
In a statement, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office expressed condolences to those affected, saying their thoughts and prayers are with the woman’s loved ones during this difficult time.
