Coffeyville Man Killed in Early-Morning Crash Near Dearing

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. — Authorities say a 65-year-old Coffeyville man was killed early Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision on a rural road between Dearing and Coffeyville.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:45 a.m. at the intersection of Inglewood Avenue and County Road 2000. Investigators reported that a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Cassandra L. Lukens, 41, of Coffeyville, was heading north when it failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a westbound 2001 Buick LaSabre.

The driver of the Buick, identified as Brian R. Griswold, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lukens was not injured.

Troopers said the investigation into the deadly collision remains ongoing.
