Columbia, S.C. — Authorities have charged Anthony Reese, 55, in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Angela Fuller, whose body was discovered earlier this month in Richland County.

According to the Columbia Police Department, Reese faces several charges, including murder, unauthorized removal of a deceased person’s body, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a stolen handgun. Investigators say these charges stem directly from the fatal shooting of 56-year-old Fuller.
Police Chief Skip Holbrook thanked the public and Fuller’s family for their patience during the investigation, noting the outpouring of support the family has received since her death.
Discovery and Pursuit
The Richland County Coroner’s Office reported that Fuller’s body was found near Shakespeare Lane in Dentsville on September 11. An autopsy determined she died from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Fuller was last seen on August 31 and reported missing later that day by relatives. Her vehicle was later spotted near Beltline Boulevard and Covenant Road, with surveillance footage showing Reese alongside her.
When officers attempted a traffic stop on Fuller’s vehicle along Broad River Road, Reese allegedly fled, sparking a high-speed chase into Lexington County. The pursuit ended in a crash, and Reese was taken into custody. A firearm recovered from the vehicle was identified as the weapon used in Fuller’s killing, police said.
Suspect’s Record and Legal Proceedings
Authorities noted that Reese has a criminal history, including assault, burglary, domestic violence, resisting arrest, and unlawful possession of a pistol. He remains in custody at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, with a bond hearing scheduled for Friday.
