COLUMBUS, Ohio — A frantic search is underway for 29-year-old China “Chicxxaa” Woods, a popular Columbus mother and social media personality who hasn’t been seen or heard from since Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
Columbus Police confirm a missing-person report was filed Friday after family members say all contact suddenly stopped, completely out of character for the outgoing 5’6″ light-skinned woman with maroon-brown curls, hazel eyes, facial piercings, and a prominent chest/shoulder tattoo.

What has turned quiet worry into outright panic are the posts that began appearing on China’s own Facebook page late Wednesday and Thursday, posts her family insists were NOT written by her.
Screenshots circulating widely show:
A message saying “she’s gone” followed by crying emojis
A now-deleted photo allegedly showing China lying face-down and motionless on a living-room floor
Several responses from the account dismissing concerned friends with “mind y’all business”
Family members immediately pointed the finger at China’s live-in boyfriend, Frank Matthews (originally from Bridgeton, NJ), claiming he has been using her phone and account to post the disturbing content.
“He’s been typing like her, but it ain’t her,” her sister “Red Red” tearfully posted in a viral video viewed over 300k times. “Then he put up that picture of my sister laid out like she dead and took it right back down. We need wellness checks EVERYWHERE. Frank, where is my sister?!”
Detectives have executed searches at multiple locations tied to Matthews and Woods, including their East Side apartment, but police have not confirmed any persons of interest by name. Sources close to the investigation tell local media Matthews is “cooperating” but has retained an attorney.

The family has organized a candlelight vigil tonight at 7 p.m. at Wolfe Park. They’re asking everyone to wear maroon in honor of China’s favorite color.
“Bring my sister home. Dead or alive, just bring her home,” Red Red pleaded.
