The towns of New Rockford, Maddock, Leeds, and Harvey are grappling with the tragic loss of Tucker Faul, a cherished New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock High School student, Class of 2026, who died in a T-bone collision on Sunday evening.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 5:07 p.m. on North Dakota Highway 19, approximately nine miles northeast of Maddock. Investigators reported that a juvenile driver in a 2009 Chevrolet Suburban, attempting to exit a residential driveway and turn west onto the highway, failed to yield to an oncoming 2006 Peterbilt truck hauling a flatbed trailer. The truck, driven by a 23-year-old man from Belvidere, South Dakota, struck the Suburban in a fatal T-bone collision.

The Suburban came to rest in the south ditch, while the Peterbilt ended up in the north ditch. Tucker Faul, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck but succumbed to his injuries. The truck driver was unharmed. The crash remains under investigation.
