SACRAMENTO REGION – A quiet neighborhood is grappling with profound sadness following a devastating event late Sunday night that claimed the lives of an 11-year-old boy and his father, a former local law enforcement officer.
Emergency responders were called to a home after reports of a serious disturbance. Upon arrival, they found the child suffering from severe injuries and immediately rushed him for medical care, but he was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later.

The father, identified as Marvin Morales – who had previously worked with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office before leaving the department several years ago – was still inside the residence when deputies arrived.
