The Lancaster, California community is deeply mourning the loss of Crystal Thompson, 27, who passed away on November 4, 2025, after years of battling the aftermath of a violent attack and a stroke. Just one day after Crystal’s passing, her mother, Klena, also passed away on November 5, 2025, after a long battle with heart failure, marking a heartbreaking double loss for the family.
Crystal’s story is one of survival and resilience. In December 2020, she was the victim of a violent attack that left her critically wounded. After being left for dead by her attacker, Crystal miraculously survived, defying the odds. Over the following years, she worked tirelessly to recover from her injuries, but unfortunately, complications led to a stroke. Crystal was admitted to a nursing facility for better care, which her family was unable to provide at home.
Now, the family is facing the emotional and financial burden of laying both Crystal and her mother to rest. Crystal’s sister, Nykirah, is seeking help from the community to raise funds for cremation services for both her sister and mother, as well as for the costs of bringing them home. The family is also raising additional funds to assist Nykirah as she transitions to life without her mother, including moving expenses.
A fundraiser has been established to support the Thompson family during this difficult time. Any donations, no matter how small, are deeply appreciated and will help ease the financial strain caused by these heartbreaking losses.
