The St. John’s community in Chilliwack is deeply saddened to share the passing of Rose Marie Reid, a cherished sister in Christ, devoted family member, and longtime presence within the church. Rose Marie passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by the love and prayers of those closest to her. She was known for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering faith, which left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

A memorial service celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, August 30, at 1:00 p.m., at St. John’s. Friends, family, and community members will gather to honor her memory, with a reception to follow.
Rose Marie’s life was deeply intertwined with St. John’s, where she was a faithful and active member for many years. She played an important role in the Women of St. John’s, which later became the Hospitality and Fellowship Group, reflecting her dedication to building community, supporting others, and strengthening the bonds of fellowship within the parish. Her love for worship and service reflected a faith that guided her life and inspired those around her.
Beyond her devotion to her church, Rose Marie built a meaningful career at Capilano University, where she touched the lives of colleagues and students alike with her kindness and professionalism. She was admired for her ability to connect with others and her willingness to lend support where it was needed.
In her later years, Rose Marie found great joy in traveling, experiencing new places, and creating treasured memories. She held her family close to her heart, cherishing every moment spent with them. Friends and loved ones remember her as a genuinely caring and thoughtful person, whose presence could brighten even the most difficult days.
Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of her family, her church, and the wider community. Those who knew her will carry forward her legacy of faith, compassion, and love.
