Cordova, TN — A large law enforcement presence converged on the parking lot of Corky’s Bar-B-Q in Cordova late Tuesday afternoon amid reports of a shooting in the area. Officers from the Memphis Police Department (MPD) were seen canvassing the scene near the restaurant’s location on Macon Road, interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage.
According to initial information, at least one individual was injured and transported to hospital condition unknown. The MPD is currently treating the investigation as a priority incident, though no arrests have been confirmed at this time. Detectives are working to determine whether the incident is connected to any ongoing disputes or occurred during a gathering at or near the restaurant.

Corky’s management briefly closed the parking area for several hours while officers secured evidence and preserved the scene. Employees and patrons reported seeing multiple marked police vehicles and uniformed officers between approximately 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
While the specific motive remains under investigation, the MPD urges anyone who witnessed the event or has video footage from the Macon Road area between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to contact the department. Tips can be submitted to the Homicide/Critical Incident Unit or anonymously through the city’s Crime Stoppers program.
